Oxford Castle's 'If Walls Could Talk' campaign hits tourist information stands

One of the best moments of working in a design agency is when you deliver the finished article to your client and the response is that of sheer delight. That's the point where you know all the hours of hard slog and small tweaks of perfection paid off.

We're still buzzing from that moment with one of our newest clients - Oxford Castle - when they opened the box of new leaflets we'd designed and were over the moon with the final result.

The visitor attraction leaflet is the first promotional item to be launched based around the 'If Walls Could Talk' concept that we previously devised for the new season campaign.

The campaign brief from Oxford Castle had been to promote the castle as a 'Prison Castle' and push the fact that they have costumed tour guides telling real stories of the inhabitants of Oxford Castle over the centuries. The inspiration for the 'If Walls Could Talk' concept came to the creative team after discovering a set of sepia mug shot photographs of real prisoners who were jailed within the castle walls.

We proposed to put a literal spin on the prisoners being trapped in the castle by projecting their mug shots onto the walls themselves. Currently this concept has been translated onto the leaflet and a double spread advert for Welcome To Oxford magazine. At some point we hope to see the concept literally projected onto the castle walls to make a huge impact for tourists.

Marketing Manager of Oxford Castle, Kayleigh Williams, said: "We're so thrilled with our new look. Dulay Seymour completely understood our brand proposition and direction, and were absolutely spot on with the design solutions. They're going down very well with our guests, so much so that we keep having to replenish our leaflet racks."
